Silly Robot
Earlier this season somebody posted about the robot playing home games early.. this reminded me about the home robot manager and at the time I checked my home robot manager options and made sure they were OFF. Guaranteed.
For the first time this season my games were played pre-maturely by the robot.. I checked my home robot options and sure enough.. it was set to ASAP once only. Curious. I have not touched that setting since the first week or two of the season as mentioned above.
So.. the robot played my games for me. To add insult to injury.. a fully rested and ready (as of game one) Mark Prior sits for the entire series. To be clear.. his status was READY. He was not overused. There were five starters on my roster. None of them were overused. I checked injury status.. none of them suffered any injuries during the series. In game 5 of my series the robot started a reliever! A reliever who had already pitched in three of the first four games! The robot does this all with at least one starter who is ready (Mark Prior) and had been sitting ready since the start of the series! Now.. I understand that the robot had to designate roles for my pitching staff.. because I had made roster changes and not updated the roles because I anticipated playing my home games tonight. Could the robot really screw up the pitching roles that badly?
Is there an explanation or a known issue at work here that I don't see? I can handle it if I made a mistake somewhere, I can even understand if one of the many known PB quirks is a work here and I just havn't heard of it yet.. but if all of this is unexplainable.. that bothers me.
The good news.. I won 4 of 5.
