I'd like to introduce an idea for a new league.
If you like it maybe you can post it throughout all
the current leagues and see if GM's would be
interested? In an old system we used to play on
they had "Stock" leagues where you could own your
favorite team. It was great for those fans who
rooted for winning teams but there were never
enough people to fill them because nobody wanted
to play if their team stunk! My idea would be to
create a league where you could own your favorite
team BUT it would be an All-Star team. For example,
I'm a Mets fan and would love to own a teamful of
the best ever Mets players. Of course, there are
some problems to work out...like the fact that some
teams have been around since 1910 and also that
players move around so much how do you figure out
who goes with what team? I figure we have to split
up the century where you would have a league from
1910 till 1959 and another 1960 till the present.
As for players we have to either pick their teams
by playing time or career year. Here's to hoping
I can own a pitching staff of Dwight Gooden, Tom
Seaver, Jerry Koosman, Bobby Ojeda and Dave Cone!
