I share Patrick's views stated above regarding why I don't believe the deadline should be extended. Mike comments that "the present system favors active managers too much". It seems to me the biggest problem facing PB these days is a lack of active managers, not the fact that the system favors those who are active.

I haven't encountered any managers over the past two weeks who haven't been acutely aware of the upcoming trade deadline.
