Of course a contender would want him, but who would give full value for the guy right now?
And, if a contender gives up the store for him, will he really gain anything, even short term?

In my experience, Mike is especially vigilent (even excessively picky) when a trade involves a contender. I would be prepared to complain once a trade is made if that trade appears unfair, but I think we shouldn't be complaining until competitiveness is hurt.
