Consequences of Day to Day

Posted By Dave N

The Injury Status page is for planning. What the Day to Day column should show is how many games during the real time season the player was out with a day to day injury.

In practice, a player with a record of day to day injuries is subject to being injured in the course of a game. Normally, this will not result in his being unable to start the next game, but you will be without him the remainder of that game. Occurances of this seem to me to be random.

The only time I'm concerned about one of my players having possible day to day injury problems is when I have thin or no backup for a player at crucial position. So if you have a bad backup catcher and your starting catcher is subject to day to day, you might have a game where the starter is injured and your backup makes a lot of errors and is an automatic out.

If your starter is subject to Day to Day injury, you might wear out your bullpen.
