For me, the manual explanation on injuries is difficult to read and understand. Part of the reason for that is the complicated and sometimes a little contradictory nature of the injury system. For instance:

Day to day injuries occur due to overuse or tiredness.
BUT...
If a player has not reached his injury total but reached his occurences, he may be susceptible to day to day injuries even if he is not overused or tired.

Players will never exeed their total actual injuries...
But...day to day injuries due to overuse don't count towards their injury total.

I think my original comment that you can ignore the day to day injury column on the injury status page since it only shows what injuries have occurred is still valid.

Even if you have a player who has not yet reached his injury limit but has reached his injury total, playing him is only going to get him injured one game at a time so what is the harm? [unless you play him overused and then he may get a longer injury but that would happen even if he had reached his limit]. So, I still say just ignore the day to day injury column. It's interesting, but not critical to making a decision on whether to play someone.
