While a guy may have been injured for 70 games during a season, this is a number that would have been at 1 after his first day on the DL, continually getting larger as the real baseball season continues, only stopping once he returns back to the starting lineup.

If you check the status of a player and he is ready, he will perform to his full capabilities.
