*** Trade News below.
Congratulations to Steve Fromme and the Elyisians on a great campaign.
Julio Teheran was series MVP. He was 1-0 with 1 save and was great in key spots.
2014 season MVP belongs to Joey Votto:
.311-19-92 with 117 walks leading to 102 runs and a .903 OPS.
Will be a great matchup but the Mutuals found ways to win in games 1,2
*** Trade News:
Team had a lot of weak seasons but will at least start the year trying to compete.
#1 Bullpen ACE and depth.
Will trade an average starter aging starter like Haren for 50-60 innings of grade 7.5 plus relief. Will trade younger Odirizzi for top bullpen talent.
#2 SS: Andrus is a keeper but need a stop gap guy who can help at SS Needs to hit RHP!!!!
#3 INF bat who can help with bat at 2b,3b and ss (in addition to above #2)
R picks 1-5 (Mutuals will draft 19th)
FA picks for right player....
RP W Smith
Mutuals win two close ones to advance to WS!
Mutuals win two close ones to advance to WS!
Lansing was far tougher than we thought for an UN-attended team!!!
Victorino seemed to be in the middle of every rally in games 6,7.
3 MVPs for Mutuals: Victorino 5 RBI and Howell and Teheran who did yeoman work in middle relief. Teheran was 2-0 and saved game seven!
2014 DIV playoff:Mutuals win tight game 6 to advance!
After a wild trip tpo Newtown the home team was on the edge of their seats in a tense 3-2 win which was decided in the 6th on 2 out singles by Tuiasopopo and Jennings.
Bautista went wild with the 3 run homer in both games...
Game 149...Lucas 3 run PH HR is walk-off winner...
Lucas (.267-2-23) has served as a jack of all trades player mostly versus LHP this season but has rarely come through in a big spot. This was it! It was only his second round tripper this season!
Memphis wins game one of showdown series 8-6 !
Blues climb to within 3 of Mutuals with inspired slugging verus Latos...
Mutuals open at home with slugfest win over Holy Bull! Adopt Fenway as home parkOpening series goes 4-1 for Mutuals over tough Holy Bull as Teheran goes 2-0 in relief despite 6.75 ERA! Andrus 9 for 20.
Its not often an available venue but fits this team to a T. Fenway is not a HR park for LHB and most of Mutual's bop comes from right side. Fenway favors 2b and 3b and run scoring in general and is my favorite PB park overall.
Opening 5 games:
Salazar to get a start vs. Cinn.
NY will treat first series like a playoff match up as they gauge their worthiness for a run in Speaker 3!
Game 1: 9-4 with many starters used in relief. Latos started but Teheran got win. Victorino and VMart were hitting heroes.
Mutuals get Danny Salazar and Travis D'Arnaud in round 1
RD 1 D Salazar, T D'Arnaud
RD 2 K Siegrist, B Cumpton
RD 3 T Jordan, E Lucas
KEY FAs: Cingrani first pick in the FA draft. Also RP Howell, Kintzler
Mutuals acquire Bautista!
He will play rf, 3b and 1b
Mutuals acquire AROD, Eric Chavez and Jonathan Herrera to fill out bench in two separate deals.
2013 WS wrap up:
Congrats to Tom Jirele and his Norsemen!
Newtown won it the hard way b y vanquishing one of the best PB managers ( the world renownd) on the road down 3-2 in the deciding series.
In game 7 super hero Derek Jeter led the Norsemen to a 3-2 victory over get this....Medlen, Uehara, Chapman and Rodney (the eventual extra frame loser).
How the Mutuals made the playoffs is beyond me...At any rate good luck to Newtown in the next round!
NY Mutuals almost completely dismantle quasi contender and look to future..
2013 Mutuals (next season)

SS E Andrus

cf Gardner, Jennings, L Martin and Revere
RF Victorino and I Suzuki
UTIL Sean Rodriguez, Jesus Guzman, Victor Martinez
Latos, Chacin, Teheran, Straily, Archer,
Garrett Richards (swingman)
Jake Odorizzi and Haren
RPicks: 1,1, 2,2,3,3,4,5
Mutuals are dismantling a "contending" team in order to become a better team down the road. We are looking for FA upgrades as well as R pick upgrades for the above players...
Confound experts with a 7-3 start but will in all probability sink into the second division as the season builds momentum...
Mutuals look to future with trade for Votto, Jennings and Victor Martinez (hopefully almost as good as new in 2013).......
No longer hoping to compete this season the Mutuals remade themselves by trading Chris Sale and Kemp plus lesser players and their 2 top FA picks....
Mutuals deal Bruce for Wieters and Ichiro...Victorino and Lincoln for a boatload of players and lesser picks..
Batting vs RHP:
1. Gordon lf
2. Kipnis 2b
3. Votto 1b

INN C Navarro's 2 run HR in 7th of game 5 averts sweep of Newtown!
Just added to the roster before the season, INN C Navarro beats NY with a clutch HR. Great game to end what was an exciting first series at Coors. This was the initial home series at the vaunted offensive ballpark located at the intersection of 20th and Blake for new S3 franchise named the New York Mutuals.
Mutuals move into Coors Field!
Kipnis, Alvarez and Nicasio in first round.
Teheran in round 2...
Chris Parmelee and Arodys Vizcaino in round 3.
Paredes in round 4.
Carlos Lee wins 1b job and to bat #2 versus RHP!
Look for Kipnis and Predes to appear versus tough RHP. C will be a straight platoon for the most part but Hundley will face RHP that are tough on LHB. Mayberry and Guzman will sub for Gordon and Bruce only against RHP which KILLS lefty batters. Parmelee looks like strictly a PH.
1b C Lee
ss Elvis Andrus
Bench: Mayberry 1b/of, Parmelee 1b, Jesus Guzman 1b/of, Kipnis 2b, Paredes 3b
SP: Latos, CJ Wilson (L), Chacin, J Garcia(L), Henderson Alvarez, Nicasio
RP: Joe Smith, Bard, Sale(L), C Perez, Bastardo
also: Arodys Vizcaino, Julio Teheran, Garrett Richards
