Loners vs. Blaze
GM 1; Gonsolin works around 5 walks but no hits in 6 shutout innings. Closer Hudson, inactive for DIV series, struggles with rust in the 9th but escapes with the save. Solo homers by McCutchen and Alonso are the only scores for Limon, but prove to be enough.
GM 2; Another 1 run win as Loners explode for 5 runs in the 8th off Bautista and Loop to come from behind. Robert's bases clearing 2b followed by Haggerty's PH double off Loop do the trick.
Hudson with another shaky save allows 2 base runners in the 9th but holds down the BLAZE.
Final was 6-5.

Daniel Hudson, the Loner's principle closer with 15 regular season saves is not active for the Divisional Series. Marinacchio (7-1 2.19) had six saves during the regular season.
Ross stripling, acquired at the trade deadline to be the team's #2 starter again struggled for the Loners, allowing 11 base runners in 4 2/3 innings but the bullpen came through as it usually does for the Loners.
LHP Jovani Moran (1-2 4svs 2.18 regular season for Philly and Limon), another late season addition was the winning pitcher.

Loners find some arms in the draft...but probably short of what they needed to compete...
2017 Rookie Draft:
Loners cop Lugo and Triggs in 3rd round and C Narvaez in 4th and RHP Matt Koch in 5th...
Lugo and Triggs give the Loners about 140 IP of better than average starting IP.
Narvaez looks like starter for CHX and has perfect backup credentials for Posey.
Koch only 18IP but should represent some valuable home starts in the division...
2017 FA Draft:
Rd 5 LHP Grant Dayton
Rd 6 RHP Andrew Schugel
Rd 7 LHP Sammy Solis and C Tuffy Gosewisch
Rd 8 LHP Richard Bleir, RHP Michael Ynoa, OF Coco Crisp
Loners have to cope with down seasons from McCuthchen, Wainwright, Liriano and even captain Buster Posey.
Duffy, Darvish, Lugo and Triggs are their only quality starters and except for Duffy do not provide a lot of innings.
The makeshift bullpen is led by Andrew Miller but features a lot of short inning pitchers.
The team lacks a 1b with Zobrist and Posey the only options. The offense will be okay but probably well short of what will be needed to support a weak pitching staff...
A wholesale rebuild is out of the question as the fan base would not tolerate it. Besides the nucleus is still relatively young (Arenado, Crawford, Odor, Darvish, Cargo, Cutch)

Andrew Miller the goat as he allowed 2 homers in 6 games to the Sioux after surrendering only 3 all season long and in two previous playoff series!!!
Daniel Murphy's PH homer in 6th was the turning point in a game which was led by Limon 2-1 at that pivotal moment.
Perhaps Wainwright should have face him but Casey had relied on his pen all season and went with hi instincts and the book!
Limon won 115 regular season games and McCutchen and Wainwright were the team's best pitcher and hitter for the year...
Limon wins 6th in a row to complete a 7-3 homestand versus GE and Chilmark...

Detroit fought back gallantly to reach a 6th game after falling behind 3-0 to the Loners, but even their ace could not get them to a game 7. Limon chose little Steve Johnson to start game 6.
He shut them out and let the bullpen hold Detroit in the end for a 3-1 win. McGee got the save and showed why he has become the mainstay of this bullpen.

Wow! What a great season in M6. Congrats to both Bob C. and Mike T. on a great series!
Two of the very best PB managers. Check that; two of the best SIM managers period!
Loners proud of their season. Hats off to Mike T and Stanford!
Loners fall in the LCS in 5. Three one run losses and one two run loss in the clincher spelled the difference. This series was closer than it looks and might have gone the other way had the vaunted Limon bullpen not failed. The other side of the story was Stanford's offense being able to push through runs versus Limon's staff.

Loners trade Bailey, Vasquez, Polonco and #2,#3 R picks for Beltre, Livan Hernandez and RP Peralta. For Atlanta the picks and young Homer Bailey were the keys to the trade. For the Loners it was getting Beltre in the clean up slot in the lineup for the stretch run!
Game 3 was a classic as the home team pulled out a 16 inning thriller. The win, however, failed to propel them in games 4,5 as they lost both (52-38) ...

Loners have spread the RBI opportunities around and currently have 9 players with 20 or more RBI.
The Loners are sailing rough seas lately with their vaunted offense struggling to score runs. Management gave up a lot of future talent in order to contend this season but are trailing Orlando by a wide margin. Maybe GE can help them make up ground this week....

Loners went with trades rather than the drafts this year. Takahashi was a lucky pick in round 4 of the rookie draft.
The FA draft went very well considering the Loners did not have a pick until the 5th round.
The eight players they picked up were a mixed bag of future help and also guys who could contribute this season:
#5 Javier Vasquez SP Provides depth this season but figures to crack the rotation next season.
#6 Miguel Batista SP/RP Spot starter and long reliever will help this year.
#8 (Loners had 6 picks in the 8th round!)

---Brent Lillibridge INF/OF will contribute about 100 PAs versus LHP mostly at 2b but also in the OF and SS
---Carlos Villanueva RP Former Loner was a surprise selection this late in the draft. May be traded as the Loners have a lot of depth in the bullpen.

2010 draft:
McCutchen, Posey and Bumgarner in round 1, Latos in round 2 , C Alex Avila in round 3, Loogy NI in round 4 for rebuilding Limon!
See below for trade ideas:
Cameron---great D, great numbers versus LHP and should be good in Boston.
Hinske---useful platoon/bench guy who plays all corner positions.
Want some combo of picks and youth for C--Posada and 3b--Chipper Jones but am leaning towards keeping them until 65 game mark next season as as they may have a couple of useful years left.
Limon starts off-season after an anti-climactic WS fall to PHIL! Limon's highlight was the LCS victory over Stanford!

Barajas walk off single ends GREAT series with arch rival Stanford!
One of the least likely heroes ends game with a single to left versus Shell. Reyes solo shot in 8th ties thriller. The home team won all of the games and they were all in play except an unlikely 7-0 blowout in game 1 for Limon!
Hudson's walk off in 9th wins game 2 thriller 2-1 to go up 2-0 on Stanford!
The loners won game one 7-0 as the home team jumped all mover 110 Win GINTS! In round one, the Loners defeated Montreal in 5 games.
Loners release Bonds and trade Thome--end of an era?! Limon in 2009 (2008 stats) and Limon history:
Loners end era as they release Bonds! Won two titles in a row as a Loner. Both years the Loners won 118 reg season games, met Cory Lake in the finals and won!

Limon win streak stopped at 25 by GI in 14! This is the best Limon club (2007) ever and the franchise has had steady ownership since 1989!
After losing a 14 inning thriller to Grand Island, the Loners split two games and have won 9 straight since!
Loners are doing it with loads of bullpen, loads of walks on offense, plus enough power and speed. Limon has no real ACE but instead relies on a steady group of veteran starters who can give you 4-5 innings to get to the deep pen. Yes they only have 87 PB value points but they score high on points per plate appearance/inning pitched!
Loners sweep Black Sox in best performance of the season!
Even Jake Peavy could not hold down the Loners as they cruise to 12 straight wins!
Loners trade for Schilling, Hoffman and Coste!
Loners send 3,4,5 FA picks and valuable swingman Jamey Wright to Fortuna for 3 vets who could help Limon repeat in M6 (always a tough roe to hoe!!!)
Schilling will be the team's third starter behind Wainwright and Maddux. Coste will give the club a better backup to Posada and free up present backup catcher Phelps to DH and play 1b. Hoffman will be used versus RH in the middle and late innings.
Loners score 4 in 9th to nip Stanford in 9th. Take big series 4 to 1.
Loners win first 8 before falling to 7-4 to Fortuna in game 9!
Loners win game 6 and M6 crown!
The Loners scored a convincing 13-4 game 6 win to cap a magical season. Manager Mike Bravard believes this was the most fun team he ever guided in any SIM season ever. "The team had everything except dominating starters but more than made up for that with Power, defense, relief pitching, bench and that "Je ne sais quoi", Bravard said from the champagne drenched clubhouse.
C0-Season MVPs:
SS Jose Reyes (.281-26-85 with 18 3b, 74 exb hits, 122 runs and 26 steals plus brilliant defense)
2B Orlando Hudson (.266-19-90 with 103 runs and joined with Reyes to form the pitcher's best friend---the best DP combo in M6)
Season's best pitcher: Francisco Liriano 15-3 2.21
DIV series MVP: LHP Dennys Reyes
LCS series MVP: OF Chris Duncan/RHP Duaner Sanchez
CHAMP series MVP: 1B Thome (.400-2-8)

Loners advance on a late rally in game 6!
Losing to recent nemesis GI by a 2-0 count in the 8th, the Loners clawed back to score one in the 8th and 2 in the 9th to win game six and the Senior Circuit title! The game winner was a PH homer by seldom used 3b Beltre with two outs and no one on. Posada's solo shot earlier in the inning had tied the score at 2. On to the WS!
Loners survive Stanford scare!
With their backs to the wall and with no margin for error, the Loners overcame Stanford with a combination of offense and timely pitching to advance to the second round versus Grand Island. Chris Gomez, LHP Kuo and RHP Wainwright were critically important role players this season and in this very special playoff victory!
Loners draft Zumaya , Villanueva, Littleton and Wilits in RD. Duncan, German, Reyes (LH), Endy Chavez in FA through round 2!
Both Zumaya and Villanueva give the Loners valuable relief innings and spot starts from Villanueva as a bonus.
Esteban German is my super sub and a plus .300 hitter versus both RHP and LHP! Littleton and Reyes add a lot of depth and qaulity to bullpen! Duncan delivers power and Chevez does everything well at all 3 OF positions!
Loners throw great leather up the middle with Hudson, Reyes and Cameron patrolling the center. They have OBP and power versus RHP (think Bonds and Thome from old Limon teams) and a nice blend of o
